Mugu/July 2 The district court of Mugu has sentenced Krip Ram Buda, 35, of Karkiwada VDC-6, to five years in prison for attempting to rape a 15-year-old girl. He was accused of attempting to rape the girl while she was sleeping alone in a cowshed during her menstrual period. The district court gave the verdict after a complaint was lodged on April 28 at the police office. A single bench of district judge Hari Sharma Pangeni ordered the sentence and compensation amount of either 75 thousand rupees or share of his property to be extracted from the perpetrator to the victim. The accused was remanded in custody at district prison on May 21; however, he was sent to Jumla prison on June 2 due to the lack of space.
