The Kankai Community Forest Office in Surunga of the Jhapa district forest office was padlocked by community forest users demanding a recount of votes in the recent election of the community forest users committee organized on April 12. They accused the election of vote-counting irregularities.

The Nepali Congress, Maoist Center, Janata Samajwadi Party and RPP-Nepal, which are on the electoral front,  organized a press conference and demanded re-election as fraud was found in the counting of votes.
