Rupandehi/July 5 Police have made public a rape accused on July 5 who is accused of raping a 71-year-old woman, living by the road on July 1. A rickshaw puller, Kul Bahadur Pariyar, 34, of Rampur VDC-4 and currently living at Devitar of Butwal Municipality-13 was accused of raping the elderly after tying her hands and legs. The destitute woman was found in pool of blood in the evening of the July 2 by the locals at the hall of local Siddheswari Lalkumari Higher School at Deepnagar, Butwal Municipality-9. The victim's hand was strained as she tried to resist assault, DSP Dinesh Kumar Acharya of Area Police Office said. Pariyar was arrested on July 2 and was presented to the court on the same day. The court has granted police seven days to invest him in custody. The victim is currently being kept at Women Rehabilitation Centre. It is learnt the victim, originally is from Baglung district and came to Butwal after she lost her husband and two daughters. She was living in the city by selling fuel woods but for the few months she was forced to beg due to her health condition.
