22 political parties staged a protest rally against the US-backed Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) at Maitighar Mandala of Kathmandu on April 19. The purpose of the protest is to put pressure on not to move forward with the MCC agreement.

Protesters chanted slogans and also carried pamphlets stating "Let's repeal the treacherous MCC agreement, protect national sovereignty", "We don't need MCC agreement, you can't colonize Nepal", "Let's protect national independence", "We don't need MCC, you can't sell the country".
