Khotang, Lutpat pachi mahila ko hatya. KHOTANG: A 44-year-old woman of Rajapani-4 was found dead in a jungle of Kamikate in Khotang yesterday night. Police recovered the body of Narmada Dhakal, who had left home to go to her parents’ house in the evening, at around 10:00pm. According to DSP Govind Kumar Shah of District Police Office, Khotang, the culprits had robbed her of a gold chain, ring and earrings before strangulating her to death with her sari. The deceased’s brother-in-law Haribol Acharya said they had seen two youths in the jungle when they went out to look for Dhakal after she didn’t arrive at her parents’ house till late. Earlier, an unidentified group had robbed a 70-plus woman of her jewellery before killing her at her house in Diktel. Khotang DSP Shah said they suspect the same group could be behind both the robbery-cum-murder cases. “We have alerted every police unit in the region to arrest the criminals. The murderers will be nabbed soon,” Shah said.
