50-year-old Manikala Sapkota of Birendranagar Municipality-12 died after being hit by a truck (plate number Ba 1 Ga 3489) of Nepal Army No. 2 Rajdal Battalion while overtaking on April 26.
Outraged locals vandalized the truck after the incident. Police have taken them under control after they attempted to set the truck ablaze and even fired a round of tear gas to control the situation. Locals, including two policemen, were injured. Police have arrested the driver involved in the accident.
