Dhading/July 8 A single woman of Dhola VDC, who has been socially boycotted by the villagers, have been provided financial support on July 8 in the initiation of INSEC. The money was contributed by WOREC and Sahayatri Samaj along with INSEC. The woman, who was raped by a fellow villager, was boycotted after she refused the villagers who asked her against filing a complaint. INSEC provided Rs 10,000, WOREC Rs 5,000 and Sahayatri Samaj contributed Rs 4,000 that was handed over to her at her home. She said that the villagers shunned her even when her mother-in-law died on July 2 creating difficulty for her to conduct the funeral because the relatives of the accused had warned the villagers against attending the death procession. She named a local Balram Simkhada, also an NC cadre and local school teacher Mohan Simkhada. NC village working committee chairperson Krishna Prasad Duwadi had warned that her two children were in danger. She has lost her job at local school and denied access to public tap, worshiping of family deity and participation in traditional practice of exchange of labor during agriculture season (parma). Prior to the incident, she was working as a school helper at Bal Jyoti Primary School in Simkhadagaon of Dhola VDC-2. In the attempts to harass her, the perpetrators and his supporters were threatening her by wielding khukuri at her home and going on her roof. Following that, she has sent her two boys to relatives for their safety. According to her, a distant nephew in relation, Sandip Simkhada, 24, had raped her on November 23, 2013 for not casting vote for NC. She filed a case of rape against him on November 27. She was fired on March 21 for not taking the case back.
