Awareness Created in Society by INSEC's Project: INSEC Chairperson

INSEC Chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel has said that the Rights, Democracy and Peace project conducted by INSEC had accomplished a significant achievement.

 

Speaking at the "Closing Meeting on Grassroots Initiatives for Rights, Democracy and Peace Project' on March 19, Pyakurel said that the project had generated awareness in society. Saying that INSEC doesn't forgot anyone involved in INSEC's campaign, Pyakurel urged the staffs to continue with their work in the grassroots level.

 

Administration chief of INSEC, Prem Parajuli said that the staffs associated with the project had shown their capability effectively. He added that the project had encouraged the society to move forward collectively.

 

Coordinator of the project Khageshwor Dhakal said that the project was successful in involving both sides of conflict in society's development process. He expressed happiness saying that the victims were ready for reconciliation even in short period. Documentation officer Bed Prasad Dhakal said that there were lots of success stories in the short period of the project period.

 

INSEC with support from Rights, Democracy, Inclusive Fund (RDIF) had conducted the project in Siraha, Sankhuwasabha, Kavre, Rautahat, Myagdi, Nawalparasi, Dang, Surkhet, Baitadi and Kailali districts since June 2010. During the project period, activities like formation of reconciliation forum between the conflict victims, public experience sharing program, greetings exchange, community reconciliation meeting, street drama, interaction were successfully conducted.

 

The staffs related with the project shared that leadership capacity had developed among the victims, creative activities had taken place in the districts, commitments had been expressed in the grassroots level and budget had been allocated.

 

INSEC Chairperson handed over token of love and letter of experience to the participants. District coordinators, local facilitators and others related to the project had participated in the program.
