Makwanpur, bahuvivah garne yuwaklaai ek varsh kaid. Makwanpur/ July 8 The district court of Makwanpur has sentenced Suraj Moktan, 26, of Kalikatar VDC-3 for one year on charge of polygamy. The court has also fined him Rs 10,000. A single bench of district court judge Dipendra Adhikari on July 7 gave his verdict regarding the case; however, the court has given a clean chit to his second wife Sangeeta Gole, 33, of Namtar VDC-5. The police had arrested her on June 5 on charge of polygamy. Based on the complaint lodged by his first wife Suntali Moktan, the police had arrested him. The district court of Makwanpur had remanded him in custody on June 22. Gole was released after posting a bail amount of Rs 30,000. Meanwhile, police have arrested Arjun Shrestha, 33, of Hetauda Municipality and Sumitra Tamang on July 6 on charge of polygamy. They were arrested based on the complaint lodged by his first wife Bimala Maharjan on July 4, said SP Ganesh Bahadur Aaire. He was accused of marrying Sumitra, 27, on May 3 despite having two kids and a wife.
