RAUTAHAT: The indefinite Rautahat closure called by local traders and entrepreneurs yesterday was called off after the agitating business persons reached a four-point understanding with the local administration today. The agitating locals had called the strike accusing the local police administration of high handedness yesterday. As the meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief District Officer Madan Bhujel seemed positive towards the demands put forth by Kanthamani Prasad Kalwar along with entrepreneurs, all the protest programmes were called off. As per the understanding, the police agreed to return mobile sets belonging to Chaudhary Group, which it had seized three months ago in coordination with the customs office. The district administration agreed to investigate suspicious goods in the presence of FNCCI representatives and reconsider the supply of sand and gravel to India, along with others. Normalcy returned from today afternoon after the strike was withdrawn.
