Civil society stage protest in Kathmandu against parliament dissolution

Civic leaders under the leadership of civil society staged a protest at  Maitighar Mandala on May 27 against the government by lighting torch lights and carrying banners and placards.

Participants demonstrated with banners and placards with slogans such as 'Vaccines, ventilators and oxygen are needed, not ballot papers, save lives or cast votes', 'Prohibition is too much, democracy is ruined'. A massive civil movement had also staged a demonstration at Ganatantra Chowk in Kirtipur on May 26.

After President Bidhyadevi Bhandari dissolved the House of Representatives for the second time on the recommendation of Prime Minister Oli, various political parties, civil society, and other stakeholders are in agitation.
