Lalitpur/July 16 The Freed Kamaiya Rehabilitation Monitoring Central Struggle committee has demanded for the establishment of a high level Freed Kamaiya Rehabilitation Problems Resolution Commission. The Committee held a press conference on July 16 where it forwarded an 8-point demand that include Rs 100,000 and 75 cubic feet of timber for the construction of freed Kamaiyas’ home and cancelling their ownership certificate of less fertile land and shift them to better place. CA member Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary criticized the government for failing to rehabilitate the kamaiyas even though they were emancipated 14 years ago. A freed Kamaiya leader, Bintiram Tharu demanded that jobs for them in and out of the country should be ensured based on their skills and capabilities and also to guarantee their higher education and residence. He also demanded implementation of several agreements signed by the government related to freed kamaiyas. R
