A group of robbers (about 10) fired shots at Rajiv Jewelers' gold and silver shop at Parsa Bazaar in Samsi Rural Municipality Ward No. 1 in Mahottari, looting millions of rupees on June 16. Birendra Sah, a 50-year-old jewelry shop owner, was shot in the waist during the incident.
The robbers entered the residence through the back wall, according to the preliminary police investigation. They then used an iron rod to attack Sah's 45-year-old wife Sushila Devi Sah, his 25-year-old son Shambhu Sah, his 20-year-old daughter Kanchan Kumari Sah, and his 17-year-old son Rajiv Sah. The injured are being treated at Janakpurdham Provincial Hospital. According to Mahottari Police, the robbers stole 172 tolas (raw) of silver worth Rs 232,000, 5 tolas (raw) of gold worth Rs 465,000, and Rs 200,000 in cash.
This was the second attack on a house owner in the district in just over a week. A house owner was robbed and shot dead in the market area of Loharpatti Municipality in Mahottari district.

Police arrested Bishwanath Paswan, 42, of Mahottari Lalbandi Municipality-2, on charge of being involved in the robbery. According to the District Police Office, Mahottari, Paswan has been involved in various criminal activities including robbery, bomb attack, robbery and weapons, abduction and hostage-taking.
