Police arrested three persons from Kapilvastu on the charge of killing 18-year-old Bijay Bahadur Kurmi. The arrested are 32-year-old Ramesh Kahar, 23-year-old Anil Kahar, and 22-year-old Basmati Kahar of Belauhawa, Kapilvastu Municipality-8. Basmati is Anil's wife and Ramesh is Anil's brother. Police had found Kurmi's body on June 21 in a pond in the same area. While investigating, it has been revealed that he was killed on the morning of June 18.
Anil had gone to the neighbor's wedding on June 17, but when he returned home after attending the wedding, he saw his wife Basmati with Kurmi in his room. Anil, his brother, and his wife Basmati beat him up and threw him into a pond. As per the investigation, Kurmi was strangled to death. They initially tied his neck with a thick string and beaten him to death. According to police, Kurmi had an affair with Anil's wife Basmati which became the reason for the murder
