Five opposition parties padlocked Maithani municipality in Mahhotari

Leaders of the five parties padlocked the municipality office of Matihani of Mahottari District, while the Municipal Council was being on June 23. Chief of Matihani Municipality Hari Prasad Mandal has accused the municipality of holding the meeting in a closed room outside the municipality office without consulting with opposition parties and the general public.
CPN (Maoist Center) District Member Rajkishore Mandal, Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (Upendra Yadav Party) Municipal Chairman Ram Nandan Yadav, Nepali Congress Municipal Coordinator Ram Padarth Sah, CPN (UML) (Madhav Nepal Party) Municipal Committee Chairman Lal Babu Yadav and Janmat Party Municipal Committee Chairman Jagat Lal Yadav has jointly padlocked the office of Matihani Municipality.
They further accused the main body of committing various financial irregularities and arbitrarily choosing the plan. Nepali Congress (NC) Jayakumar Chaudhary said that no action has been taken against the mayor even after he lodged a complaint against the irregularities at the Office of Investigation of Abuse of Authority and the Central Office in Bardibas.
