Ward Chairman of Shivalaya Rural Municipality-7 of Jajarkot Birbal Khatri has been accused of beating Rabindra Bahadur Shahi, a sub-engineer working in the same ward on June 27. However, Chairman Khatri has issued a statement claiming that he has only requested Shahi to work and make the estimation properly.
Shahi alleged that Chairman Khatri assaulted him and even gave him death threats in the technical office of the ward office for working outside his ward but not paying attention to the work of the ward. Shahi has allegedly sustained facial injuries.
According to Shahi, the ward chairman suddenly came with some boys and started shouting. And then, punched and kicked him. Khatri is the elected ward chairman from UML.
Employees working at the Shivalaya have condemned the incident.In protest against the incident, all the employees including the chief administrative officer working in the municipality have issued a statement and decided to 'pen down' until action is taken against the culprits.
