Teachers stage sit-in demanding corona vaccination for teachers and students in Arghakhanchi and Gulmi

2021-07-02

Organized by the Nepal Teachers Federation, teachers of Gulmi-12 and Arghakhanchi-6 have staged a three-hour sit-in demanding 34 points. Various professional associations have expressed solidarity in the movement. They have demanded the issuance of the Federal Education Act and the provision of vaccination to teachers/students.

Man Bahadur Pandey, central vice-president of the Unified All Nepal Teachers' Association, said that vaccination against covid should be made mandatory before running the school as there is a fear of spreading corona infection when hundreds of students and teachers participate in the school. They also demanded promotion of teachers, increase in salaries of staff and child development assistants, and release of the report of the Higher Education Commission.
