A man has been found dead in mysterious circumstances in Bharatpur of the Chitwan district in southern Nepal on Thursday. The deceased, yet to be identified, appears in his early 30s. His body was submerged in mud on the road at Dairy Chok, Bharatpur-17. The man’s head has a bullet injury and the police also found a bullet cartridge near the body. Therefore, police have suspected he was shot dead.SP Om Adhikari, the chief of the District Police Office, says law enforcers are further investigating the case.
Police revealed that Bharat Gurung, a Nepal Army officer who was found dead, was shot dead by an army soldier. According to Chitwan Police, Gangadhar Dhakal of Bharatpur-21 shot dead Bharat. Police, in a press conference on Friday, said that Bharat was killed by his trusted friend Dhakal while he was going to pass the land in Chitwan. Bharat even gave Gangadhar his signed bank check believing him. After killing his friend, Gangadhar threw his weapon in the bush on the side of Garuwa Kamaksha Mandir Road at Bharatpur-8 and reached his aunt's house at Sauraha Chowk in East Chitwan.
Gangadhar was arrested by the police from Bharatpur-20 Chanauli on Thursday afternoon. Police said that they recovered a box of bullets, an SMG weapon, Rs. 800,000 in cash, a motorcycle and other items used in the incident.
