Parsa police arrested 20-year-old Laxmi Das of Birtamod Municipality-9 in Jhapa and 19-year-old Khushbu Bishwakarma of Itahari Sub-Metropolis-12 in Sunsari on the charge of human trafficking. According to police, they lured a 16-year-old girl and a 10-year-old girl to India for employment.
The Parsa police had launched a rescue operation on the basis of information that two Nepali girls had been taken to a place called Chhaundadano in the Indian state of Bihar. In coordination with the Indian police, Parsa police rescued the two girls. Police arrested the accused on the basis of the statements of the rescued girls.
