The Indian SSB has issued a threat against a witness of the atrocious incident in which a Nepali citizen, died after the Indian SSB personnel cut the improvised cable crossing while he was crossing the Mahakali river using the cable. SSB personnel issued a threat over the phone to the witness warning him of consequences if he did not change his statement blaming the SSB for the death of the Nepali citizen. Ward chairperson Dhiran Singh Dhami of Byas Municipality-2 confirmed the incident. There is a high presence of Indian SSB personnel in Khalanga Bazar.
