Locals in Lalbandi Municipality staged a relay hunger strike against the dissolution of the Land Problem Resolution Commission. They protested against the move of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at Janwadi Chowk in Lalbandi Municipality Ward No. 6. The cabinet meeting on August 3 decided to dismiss the commission. A hunger strike was started under the leadership of Ujjwal Kumar Karki, Ward Chairman of Lalbandi-6, saying that the commission formed to manage the landless, squatters and disorganized settlement was dissolved after the change of government.
