A person, injured in a khukuri attack in Chhireshwornath Municipality of Dhanusha, died while undergoing treatment. The deceased is identified as Om Malik Dom, 35, of Sakhuwa Bazaar, Naya Tol in Kshireshwar Nath Municipality-6. He was taken to Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar for treatment.
The deceased's 27-year-old neighbour Rakesh Rai Kurmi had attacked him with a khukuri during a dispute on August 2. According to locals, Rakesh's sister Rinki Devi Kurmi, 35, also hit him on the head with a wooden plank. Rakesh is absconding after Om's death. The victim's family members are agitated that the police did not arrest Rakesh even though a complaint was lodged at the Area Police Office, Mahendranagar on August 3.
