50-year-old Ram Naresh Mahato of Lalbandi Municipality-2 in Sarlahi died on the spot after being hit by a tipper on August 13. After his death, the aggrieved locals took the tipper under control, vandalized it and even set it on fire in the Nawalpur market area. Locals protested by placing the body of the deceased Mahato on the highway. Police used force after the locals started vandalizing the place. After that, a clash took place between locals and police in the Nawalpur Bazaar area. Police also fired four rounds of tear gas to disperse the crowd, said Krishna Giri, acting police spokesperson for Sarlahi.
