Employees of The employees' trade union has been protesting for a week against the decision to split the Civil Aviation Authority into two. The employees' trade union under the Authority has staged a protest in front of Civil Aviation Authority's head office at Baber Mahal. Stating that the European Union (EU)  had not recommended the splitting of CIA, EU spokesperson Anil Kumar Gupta accused the government of splitting the authority for vested interests. The government has tried to break the authority by bringing Nepal Civil Aviation Authority Bill, 2076 and Nepal Air Services Authority Bill, 2076.
