Locals vandalized and padlocked the Jagadamba Steel Industry in Simara of Jitpur Simara Sub-metropolis under Pathlaiya Industrial Corridor citing that harmful gases were leaking from the zinc plant. Meanwhile, the industry's operator Pawan Gupta claims that the locals vandalized and looted properties from the industry in the name of protest on Friday. Gupta further accused the locals of forcibly entering inside the industry and vandalizing computers, laptops, chairs, drawers, and vehicles including motorcycles instead of requesting to shut down the plant. He also lamented that although some locals had been vandalizing the industry that pays billions of rupees in taxes repeatedly, the local administration had failed to provide security to the industry.
