Baidhya Supporter Cadre Beaten By Establishment Faction

Ganesh Aryal, 33, Area no 4 in-charge of UCPN-M affiliated to Baidhya faction has been beaten by establishment faction's cadres at Muraiya of Rajapur3 on November 17.

 

Aryal, a resident of Manau VDC-3 blamed that a group led by party Rajapur secretary and district committee member, Jagatram Tharu beat him.

 

"As per the direction of Jagatram, the group of some 25 persons including Nepalu Tharu, 30 of Khairichandanpur VDC-3 had beaten me while I was sleeping in the house yard of a local of Muraiya VDC on November 17," Aryal said, adding that the gang kicked him and beat him with fists and batons, leaving injuries to his mouth, ribs and ears. Aryal has been undergoing treatment in a medial shop in Nepalgunj after receiving primary treatment in a local health post.

 

Aryal was rescued immediately after the incident, Komal Shah, Inspector at Rajapur Area Police Post said, adding that he has filed a public offence against Jagatram and Nepalu Tharu at the APO on November 18.

 

Stating that the incident was socking UCPN-M district in-charge Tilakram Sharma alias Himal said that the public offence case file against Jagatram and Nepalu was wrong.

 

A gang led by Baidhya faction cadre including Aryal had seized the land ownership certificates and tore them when landowners had tried to sell the land seized during the decade long armed insurgency in Gulariya few days ago.

Jagatrama and Nepalu had gone to mediate as Aryal was beaten in connection with the incident of seizure and tearing of the landownership certificates, Himal said.

 

Baidya aligned cadres had torn away the landownership certificates of some persons of Khairichandanpur VDC while they were trying to sell their land in District Land Revenue Office and Shikhar Legal Service Centre in Gulariya bazaar on November 14.
