Clash between Nepali Congress Cadres in Dadheldhura over the membership issue

2021-09-07

A clash broke between Nepali Congress cadres in Dadheldhura after the name list of the active members was made public. On September 7, during the working committee meeting, Lokendra Bahadur Bam, election officer of the 7th convention Dadheldhura, did not sign in the meeting book, which resulted in a clash. According to Karna Bahadur Malla, the district party president, the clash took place at the party office because the election official provoked one-sided friends and made irresponsible remarks while discussing the issue of active membership.

In Dadheldhura, there are two factions in the congress: one led by District President Malla and the other by Central President Deuba. Chairman Malla stated that the district working committee has postponed the convention, stating that it cannot be held in the district until the district's membership dispute is resolved. The Deuba group, on the other hand, claims that the dispute began when the district chairman Malla's party began putting undue pressure on the election official. According to Bam, District Election Officer Malla has no authority to postpone the convention. He stated that the convention would not be postponed once the district chairman made the announcement.
