Police arrested  22-year-old Shreeram Mallaha and, 20-year-old Renu Mallaha on the charge of killing their 8-month-old infant Suraj Mallaha by cutting his throat. According to the police, the infant was found dead in his own home in Rupandehi, Gaidahawa rural municipality-6 on September 12 evening and his parents were arrested on the suspicion of infanticide.

Police spokesperson Satyanarayan Thapa said that the couple had confessed to killing the baby on September 11 and as per their confession, they were disturbed due to daily quarrels in the family due to land disputes.
