Pawan Singh, principal of Nepal Rashtriya Secondary School, Belahiya, Prasauni-6, has accused ward chairperson Brij Kishor Kushwaha of physically assaulting him. Singh claimed that the ward chairperson physically assaulted him by locking him in his ward office. According to the sources, the relation between Singh and Kushwaha was not good since 2 years. According to Singh, the ward chairperson did not let Singh take attendance and tried to extort money from him. According to Singh, he was assaulted by a group of 5-6 men on September 24 while meeting with the staff and teachers of the school. Singh claimed that the doctors examined and found that his nose was broken, blood clots in the left ear and ruptured mesh.
The teachers of the school have issued a statement demanding action against the accused. Ward Chairman Kushwaha, on the other hand, said that the allegation that he had beaten up Singh is false. He claimed that he went to the school on that day after receiving information that the headmaster had not gone to the school and the teachers had not taken classes. Kushwaha further added that the school was closed during the day, the teaching was stopped for 2 days, teachers were not getting a salary and students were returning home. Kushwaha claimed that students physically assaulted the headmaster out of frustration rather than him. Singh was accused of not attending school regularly and embezzling Rs. 200,000.
