Parbat/ August 6 At least eight inmates have been injured in a clash between the inmates at district prison of Parbat on the night of August 5. The injured are inmate leader Ananda KC, of Pokhara sub-metropolis-5, guard Gyan Bahadur Paija of Tanahu district, Prem Tamang of Lwangghalel VDC-9, Lila Bahadur Khorja of Shalija VDC-7, Ratna Prasad Neupane of Tanka lal VDC-6, Amrit Neupane, Bikram Subedi and Tul Bahadur BK of Durlung VDC-8. Among those injured, Ananda KC, Amrit Neupane and Lila Bahadur Khorja were taken to Pokhara for further treatment while other five injured are getting treatment at district hospital of Parbat. Two groups of inmates ensued in a clash after taking dinner. Prem Tamang, one of the injured, said that the leader and guard of the prison used to discriminate and beat them on daily basis. A group including Bipin Gurung, who was removed from the leader, attacked the group led by Ananda KC. Gurung, Tamang and their group were transferred to the Parbat prison after their involvement in series of clashes in Pokhara and other prison. The incident was brought under control by the team of police deployed from district police office of Parbat. The injured were rushed to the hospital according to prison security Chief Bishnu Bahadur Thapa. The incident is under investigation, said DSP Mahendra Kumar Shrestha. The security personnel in command of Inspector Pradeep Singh have been deployed at the incident site. There are 74 male and 7 female inmates in the prison.
