Jayan Punmagar alias Ashok was arrested on the charge of killing his 42-year-old father Chandra Bahadur Thapa of Bhagwanpur in Shivaraj Municipality-9. Chandra Bahadur Thapa had been beaten to death by Ashok and his friend Kiran Mahara of Shivraj Municipality-9 Bhagwanpur. They threw the body into a pond in Bangai, Bijaynagar Rural Municipality ward no. 5. They had fled after the body was thrown into a pond in Bangai. Ashok killed his father after consuming alcohol with a friend, according to Superintendent of Police Dan Bahadur Karki.
