Leaders and cadres, including district president Karna Bahadur Malla, started a relay strike from Wednesday (November 17)  at the central office of Sanepa in Lalitpur demanding the re-convening of the ward convention in Dadeldhura.

Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba's party has started a one-sided convention amid the controversy of active membership in the district and the Central Election Committee has also recognized it. The Deuba faction has already held ward and rural municipalities' conventions.

 District Chairman Malla's side is dissatisfied saying that Chairman Deuba has sent the names of the active members recommended by the District Working Committee contrary to the constitution. Malla has demanded to hold the ward convention again on the basis of statutory active membership and move ahead with the general convention process.
