Kailali/August 8 The district labor office (DLO) of Kailali has decided to penalize Ram Bahadur KC and his wife Goma KC of Dhangadi Municipality-5 for labor exploitation of Seema Gurung, 15, of Chaumala VDC-7. The DLO also decided that the couple hand over a compensation amount of Rs 64,000 to the girl. The DLO gave its verdict on the case on August 4 confirming that Seema Gurung was exploited while she was working as a domestic help in their home. The DLO further stated that they were penalized according to the sub clause 2 of clause 3 of Child Labour Act, 2056. According to the Act the couple was penalized Rs 10,000 each with a compensation amount of Rs 64,000 to be handed over to the girl. The victim girl had lodged a complaint against them at DLO on March 28 with the help from WOREC Nepal.
