Police have arrested Khajendra Bahadur Damai, 54, of Menchyayem Rural Municipality-6 on November 24 on charges of raping a 46-year-old woman.

The victim had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office on November 4 accusing Damai of raping her on November 3.

Inspector Kamal Thakur of the District Police Office said that the accused who went on the run after the victim's family filed a complaint against him was arrested from Menchyayem Rural Municipality-6 for investigation.

The victim was examined at the District Hospital on November 4.
