Nepali congress cadres clashed during the closed session of the regional convention after the dispute aroused between the Bimalendra Nidhi and Ram Chandra Poudel panel of two different factions of parties foundation.

Manoj Jha, Ragvendra Jha and Ramu Yadav are aspiring for the post of chairmanship from Mahottari-3. Manoj Jha and Ramu Yadav are considered close to Bimalendra Nidhi while Ragavendra is close to Ram Chandra Poudel. Leaders close to Nidhi have alleged that the clash was caused by former Congress central member Ram Chandra Tiwari. Sambhu Pathak, secretary of the Nepali Congress in Mahottari said that the controversy over the appointment of Ragavendra Jha as president has created problems.

Tiwari has demanded that Ragavendra Jha should be made the unanimous chairman even before the election, but after the leaders close to Bimalendra refused, it is alleged that Tiwari's party has mobilized gangs. The Nidhi faction alleges that the remaining ward convention in Manarasiswa Municipality-8 could not proceed due to Tiwari faction.

"Tiwari and Poudel's group is accused of trying to rig the election by bringing fake voters while preparing for the election in the ward," said Bijay Sah, vice-president of Constituency No. 3. Leader Ramu Yadav sustained minor injuries in the clash. According to Sah, the fund group came out without any discussion after the Tiwari faction mobilized thugs during the closed session.
