Sher Bahadur Deuba attended the tea party called by senior Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel. After attending a program organized by Poudel at a banquet in Lanchaur, the cadres protested against Deuba, who is a candidate for the presidency, by chanting slogans.

Activists gathered at the banquet chanted slogans in favour of presidential candidate Shekhar Koirala and protested against Deuba. Poudel, who reached the stage to address the protesters, was not able to speak. Deuba was not allowed to address the program. Another presidential candidate Shekhar Koirala addressed the cadres.
