Two men physically assaulted the famous Deuda singer Bhanubhakta Joshi around 8 pm on December 18 at Chaulani Hotel in Mahendranagar. Joshi identified one of them to be Rupesh Saud, a businessman from Gokuleshowr Bajar in Shailyasikhar municipality-9, Darchula.
"Their group came into the hotel when I returned alone to the hotel after doing the video shoot for the whole day. They started to abuse me. When I tried to speak, they assaulted me physically by forcing me inside the room. They had planned to kill me. I could save my life by fleeing the scene.", said Bhanubhakta Joshi. He said that they attacked him in the effect of alcohol. He was initially taken to Maya metro hospital, which referred later to Nisarga Hospital in Dhangadi. Joshi had sustained serious injuries on the chest, eyes, nose, and other parts of the body. His condition is improving.
Meanwhile, police arrested one of the accused and are further investigating the case. Joshi is the permanent resident of Sittad in Dogadakedar rural municipality-6, Baitadi.
