In an inhumane criminal incident involving child rights violation, a hostel warden in Pokhara has allegedly bound a six-year-old child’s penis with a rubber band for hours, on the charge of bedwetting. Police have arrested Januka Nepali (27), the warden of New Life Hostel, Pokhara-15 in the Kaski district.
The student of nearby Siddhi Ganesh School had gone to his classroom on Monday with his penis fastened with the rubber band. After a few hours, he had cried so painfully that others asked him about the problem and he revealed it, according to the District Police Office.A native of Dolpa, the child was in Pokhara for the past few years after the death of his father, it has been learned.
Police say they have received a five-day remand to keep Nepali in custody for further investigation. Meanwhile, Prakash Paudel, the chief of Pokhara’s ward 15 committee says the hostel is not registered with the city government.
