Presidential candidate Krishna Yadav and Ram Saroj Yadav clashed over the voting issue of the Nepali Congress' Province 2 Committee. Controversy erupted after establishment party candidate Krishna Yadav said that the election should be held on December 22 and Bimalendra Nidhi's party candidate Ram Saroj Yadav said that the election should be postponed to December 23.

Some Nepali Congress cadres have been injured in the incident. The Election Committee had made public the schedule for holding the election in Province 2 on December 22 itself. The election program now has been postponed due to clashes between the two factions of the party. Election committee coordinator Pralhad Gautam informed that voting will start at 8 am on December 23.
