Police arrested Sushila Budha, a 24-year-old woman, daughter-in-law of the deceased, on December 18, Kamal Budha, a 19-year-old man, relative's son of the deceased, on December 25, Chameli Budha, a 28-year-old woman, daughter-in-law of the deceased and Balaram Budha, a 48-year-old father of Kamal, on the charge of murdering Jamani Budha, a 70-year-old woman of Chhatreshwori rural municipality-3, Jhampeki on 25, June, 2021.  According to the police, Sushila and Kamal killed the victim by strangling her to death and done the funeral claiming that she died by falling from the stairs on 26 june, 2021. The police started to do the investigation, after they got the secret information regarding the death being a murder and not an accident. 

According to the investigation, the Chameli and Kamal helped to hide the proof of the murder. The son of the victim, Netra Lal Budha, 33, lodged the complaint against the accused on December 18, claiming that it death of his mother was murder and not the death due to accident.
