Baitadi: Police arrested 30-year-old Ramesh Singh Ayer, a resident of Sigas rural municipality-7 on December 27 accused of involving in the murder of 55-year-old Katak Bohora from ward number 8 of the same municipality.
Katak Bohora was found dead on December 2 after missing on November 29 from a local fair at Kalipokhari Mandir. The police started the investigation after the deceased family filed a complaint suspecting murder from the injury like marks found at the head and other parts of the deceased body. Police had kept a close watch on Ramesh who was absconding since the day of the incident.
Police mentioned Ramesh's acceptance of physically assaulting Katak Bohora. " We came to understand that Ramesh and Katak had met during the Kalapokhari fair. They had rows with each other during the night as Katak asked Ramesh to pay back the loan amount.", said Rajesh Shahi, the police inspector of Area Police Office-Patan. Further investigation is ongoing.
