Lakpa Tamang, 62, of Simjung VDC-6 has been injured in a police firing following a clash between police and the locals on August 14. He was rushed to Kathmandu after the incident. The locals thrashed SI Govinda Acharya and a policeman after taking them in control. They were freed later on the same day. The clash started after the patrol team from Bhachhek police post requested the locals not to slaughter and eat cow and ox. The police said that two rounds of bullet was fired in self-defense after the locals attacked them with homemade weapons. DSP Ramesh Thapa said that the investigation of the incident is underway as police could not reach the incident site due to the torrential rain.
