Flood-hit areas under risk of infectious diseases

Nepalgunj,Jalpralaya maarma pareka kshetra. NEPALGUNJ: Risk of infectious diseases has increased among people of mid-western region due to flood and inundation. Health Sub-Committees formed under the District Natural Disaster Rescue Committee have already been deployed in Banke, Surkhet, Bardiya and Dang districts to save flood and inundation-affected people from infectious diseases. The Committee has urged the flood victims to adopt health alertness as they could suffer from different types of infectious diseases due to contaminated water and stale food, among others. Focal person of the District Public Health Office, Ram Bahadur Chand, said locals of Holiya and Betahani villages of Banke district are now found suffering from diarrhoea and viral fever.
