Rajbiraj,Boksi ko arop ma mahila laai kutpit. RAJBIRAJ: A 32-year-old woman has been severely thrashed by villagers on charge of practicing witchcraft. Ram Kumari Marik of Malekpur-4 of Saptari was beaten black and blue on Monday evening. Villagers charged her of passing her 'witchery tricks' on the daughter of local Kamal Marik. Victim's husband Rudan Marik said villagers Binod Marik, Dilip Marik, Adhuliya Marik, among others dragged his wife out of the house and mercilessly lashed her. The incident took at around 5:30 pm yesterday. According to police, the victim is undergoing treatment at Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital. Ramkumari claimed that villagers had been accusing her of preventing Rudan's daughter from delivering baby for past one year. She demanded that the police administration book the perpetrators involved in the attack.
