Police arrested Urmila Budha, a 28-year-old stepmother and her husband Tilak Budha, 39-year-old, permanent residents of Dang Ghorai sub-metropolitan ward no-11, on April 12, on the charge of physically assaulting their 3-year-old minor son. The complaint against the accused was lodged by the maternal uncle of the victim. According to the police, the two accused beat the child brutally on March 23, in Kavrepalanchowk Namobuddha municipality-16, by kicking and punching him for defecating in the bed whilst he was asleep in a tent. The victim was rescued by the neighbors after he was seriously injured by the assault caused by his parents.
