Cadres of the coalition of parties formed for the local election including CPN (Unified Socialist) party picketed the office of the chief election officer in Biratnagar demanding the cancellation of CPN-UML's deputy mayor candidate Shilpa Nirala Karki's candidacy stating that her candidacy was against the election law as she was member of Koshi hospital development committee. Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) youth leader Rakeshroshan Yadav demanded to immediately scrap Karki's candidacy.
