Four people including the ward chairperson candidate from Nepali Congress were injured in an attack from CPN (Maoist Center) cadres in Aathbiskot Municipality-8 of Rukum West on May 2.
Nepali Congress ward chairperson candidate Chandra Bahadur Budha, ward member candidate Ran Bahadur Bohara and Congress cadres Man Bahadur Budha and Amar Bohara were injured after being attacked by cadres of Maoist Center's youth wing YCL.
The injured have sustained various injuries in head, back and other parts of the body. According to the sources, the CPN's youth wing YCL attacked the candidates and cadres, vandalized food and other items inside the house of Congress leaders. The door of the house has also been vandalized. According to the police, the attack could have been motivated by political rivalry surrounding the local level election.
