Six injured in a clash between independent candidate and CPN (Maoist Centre)'s supporters in Rukum West

Six person were injured during a clash between between supporters of CPN (Maoist Centre) and independent candidate from the same party on May 3 midnight, in Tribeni Rural Municipality-1 Rungha of Rukum West. The two sides clashed attacking the other group with sharp weapons after dispute over candidacy from the party for Tribeni Rural Municipality in local election.

The dispute started after Sundar Oli, CPN (Maoist Cantre)'s deputy-chairperson for the Tribeni Rural Municipality formed an independent panel of candidates with him as the candidate for chairperson of Ward 1 in the rural municipality. Maoist Centre had nominated Laxman Oli as its official candidate for the chairperson of the ward. Police stated that Sundar and Laxman's supporters resorted to khukuri attack on each other after the dispute escalated.

Dharmend Sunar, 42, Tika Jung Malla, 38, Jeevan Pun, 31, Bal Bahadur Pun, 68, Chetan KC, 17, and Yama Bahadur Pun, 40 sustained injury in the incident. Among injured three sustained serious injuries.
