Nepali Congress ward chairperson candidate injured as CPN-UML, CPN (Unified Socialist), CPN (Maoist Center) and Nepali Congress cadres clash in Rolpa

A candidate from Nepali Congress in local level election slated for May 13 was injured when cadres of CPN-UML, Nepali Congress, CPN (Unified Socialist) and CPN (Maoist Center) clashed in Madi Rural Municipality-3 of Rolpa on May 4. Man Bahadur Dangi, a Nepali Congress's Ward Chairperson sustained serious injuries when he was attacked with an iron rod during the clash.
According to Gopal Gharti, regional president of Nepali Congress Constituency-2, Dangi was taken to Dang for medical treatment. He also alleged that Dangi was physically assaulted by the opposition cadres by capturing the vehicle that he was using. Bir Bahadur Gharti, Madi Rural municipality secretary of the CPN (Maoist Center), claimed that their cadres resorted to attack in self-defense.
Nepali Congress has formed an alliance with CPN-UML while CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Unified Socialist) formed another alliance for local election in Madi Rural Municipality.
