A CPN-UML cadre sustained injury after being reportedly attacked by CPN (Maoist Centre) affiliated YCL (Young Communist League)'s cadres in Chitawan. According to reports, 34-year-old Mahendra BK, a municipal member of CPN-UML's sister organization Youth Association, was physically assaulted by a group of 15-16 people led by YCL's Kalika Municipality in-charge Nawaraj Ghalan in Kalika-3 of Chitwan on May 4 night. BK sustained serious injuries on his head after being hit with bottle and sharp glasses by the group.

Kalika Secretary of CPN-UML Shudarshan Adhikari said that the victim sustained serious injuries on his head and was undergoing treatment in Bharatpur's old Medical College.
